STRAVINSKY The Rite of Spring
In the century since its infamously riotous premiere, The Rite of Spring has become a perennial favorite and an undisputed masterpiece. Complementing Stravinsky’s heart-pounding evocations of pagan rituals are two beloved works from Sibelius: The Swan of Tuonela and Violin Concerto, with soloist Sergey Khachatryan. Conductor Rafael Payare and The Cleveland Orchestra are joined by members of the New World Symphony for this electrifying evening.
