Memories within what remains
A WEIRD MIAMI bus tour with Adler Guerrier

Saturday June 28th at 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Join us for an evocative Weird Miami tour led by artist Adler Guerrier as we travel through a few sites in NW Miami-Dade and elicit stories and memories within what remains.

This journey will guide guests along Downtown Miami starting on the grounds of Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. United States Courthouse and Lummus Park on Third Street and then meander about older solitary slash pines, Pinus elliottii, standing tall on the landscape. Towering between modestly sized homes, sidewalks, and abutting property lines, these trees seemingly mark the traces of a lost ecology—survivors of deforestation, encroachment, and platting.

Adler Guerrier was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and lives and works in Miami, where he received a BFA at the New World School of the Arts. Guerrier had a solo exhibition at Pérez Art Museum Miami and has exhibited work at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, The Bass Museum of Art, Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami, and History Miami.
