Join the Miami Children's Chorus as they celebrate the completion of the 2020-2021 season with "Life Every Voice" - a virtual spring concert! For over 50 years MCC has marked the end of its season with a spring concert and though virtual, this season will be no different! "Lift Every Voice" is a celebration of all our choristers successes this year. The concert features all five ensembles of the MCC in an exciting and varied virtual choir presentation that continues to share the organization's message of hope and joy for the future. The Miami Children's Chorus envisions a community where children can explore the joy of singing. Its mission is to provide a music education and performance program for young people ages 8-22. The MCC seeks to continuously enhance the cultural life of South Florida by providing choristers and audiences with an organization that teaches respect, commitment, collaboration, artistic integrity and dedicated effort.

PIANO SLAM returns for its 13th year with internationally acclaimed piano duo Yoshie & Takashi live from Tokyo and Roger Robinson from London. This virtual spoken word event also features Miami’s top teen poets, guest DJ Anthony Laurencio from Afrobeta and Michelle Grant Murray’s Olujimi Dance Company.

Join Hued Songs Artistic Director, Kunya Rowley, and cast members from the 2021 Juneteenth Experience and Bookleggers for a literary tour de Overtown on the Bookleggers Bike! Come take a free book (no library card required) along this multi-stop performance with snippets from Hued Song’s upcoming Juneteenth Experience. The Bookbike will launch from Gibson Park traveling the road with free books and cultural performances for neighbors, culminating in a final show at 3:00 p.m. in the Dorsey Memorial Library Garden.

Join Nu Deco Ensemble for our final interactive performance of the season for K-12 students, LIVE from the North Beach Bandshell! This performance will explore how different cultures have influenced the music of the New World, especially music in the United States. Featuring Tank and the Bangas plus the music of Antonín Dvořák, Jessie Montgomery, Jessica Meyer, and symphonic reimaginations of the music of Dr. Dre. There will also be an opportunity to ask Tank and the Bangas and the orchestra questions during a Q&A session at the end – we look forward to seeing you online! A digital program and concert quiz will be emailed prior to the concert. This concert and accompanying resources are intended for and available only to K-12 educators. An educator email will need to be provided while registering.

Fabio Patino has spent the last year nurturing a beautiful music scene. Come enjoy a magical night! His trio is anchored by violinist Nay and percussionist Jenny, plus many special guests.

The May edition of North Beach Social, and we are celebrating Haitian Heritage Month, in association with SummerStage NYC. Join us for limited in-person audience (with Covid-19 safety protocols) or via Live-Stream. Gabel, one of the most popular konpa groups today, in concert, with an opening set by Nancy St Leger Dance Company. Gabel is a Haitian konpa band formed by a group of four music-loving friends in 2007. The name Gabel translates as “I dare you…,” and this dare has led to great success as the group has become one of the most popular konpa groups today! Gabel has been awarded countless awards and accolades within the Haitian Music Industry and has toured the US, Canada, Haitian the French Caribbean and Paris many times. Recently during the Covid-19 quarantine, they set aside time for philanthropic work. They provided free virtual concerts, accompanied by medical professionals to share health information within the Haitian-American community. They are working now on new music and video, and look forward to performing before live audiences. Nancy St Leger Dance Ensemble is a Little Haiti-based Haitian folkloric 6-member dance company was founded by Nancy St Leger, a dancer and educator. Her favorite dances are what she called ‘warrior dances’ - ibo, petro and nago. She teaches purely Haitian folkloric dance styles at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex (currently on hold for Covid-19). The Ensemble dancers are students and parents who give freely of their time to be part of a vision to promote Haitian dance with pride. Some recent celebrity sightings for the group have included their part in Rihanna and DJ Khaled’s video “Wild Thoughts”, appearing on Black Ink Crew Miami, on stage with Arcade Fire during their last visit to Miami, and with Harmonik at CompasFest. The group’s signature costumes are hand-sewn by mama Nyrva St Leger.

The evening will begin with an artist showcase featuring works by Derek Wilson. Afterwards, CMN presents an evening of American Art Songs featuring the talents of soprano, Kyaunnee Richardson and pianist, Ciro Fodere. This intimate recital will feature art songs by American composers from 1776 to present.

Ever wonder what Miami will be like in the year 2050? What if we asked our children? CIRCA/MIA is a one-of-a-kind multi-media performance and film exploring visions of Miami’s future based on drawings, interviews, and dialogue with 35+ children across Miami-Dade County, and performed by six of the children’s mothers. The performance and film are accompanied by the eclectic sounds of Miami’s own, Afrobeta, who will also perform live. Explore how the hopes and dreams of a child can inform our notions of the past, present, and future of our coastal city on the brink of climate crisis. This year’s LALA cohort includes Miami-based artists Michelle Grant-Murray,Dale Andree, Sandra Portal-Andreu, Fereshteh Toosi, Susan Caraballo, and Hattie Mae Williams. COVID-19 Considerations and Precautions: This show will be presented live to a limited audience with COVID-19 protocols in place. All guests must register in advance, and be ready to present their E-ticket on their mobile device at the door, for a contactless experience. All are required to adhere to social distancing guidelines (6 ft.) and wear the appropriate facial coverings correctly throughout the event, except when eating or drinking. We appreciate your understanding as we work to ensure the health and safety of all guests and staff in attendance. Parental supervision required for children at the event.

FUNDarte and Miami-Dade County Auditorium present the live launch of the children’s songbook Color Caribe, with an acoustic children's concert featuring Rita Rosa Ruesga, Pavel Urkiza, Inez Barlatier and acting by Leandro Peraza. This family performance premieres online on Saturday, May 22nd at 7:00 pm as part of MDCA's Digital Month All May series.

Miami-Dade County Auditorium and Dranoff International 2 Piano Foundation present “Cuba Symphonic” featuring virtuoso pianists Orlay and Orlando Alonso, The Alonso Brothers, in an immersive experience that places the audience at the center of the “Golden Era” of Cuban music and entertainment. The concert premieres online on Saturday, May 29th at 7:00 pm as part of our Digital Month All May series.
